Some fields are becoming obsolete while others are going to see rapid growth in the next 10 years. Finance, software development and engineering are just a few of the fields with higher levels of job security, as jobs in these fields are projected to grow much faster than the typical career. It might seem like we are in a world where careers of the future are hard to predict and nearly impossible to break into without a background in technology or coding. There are still plenty of jobs that are reliable and very much within the reach of a motivated individual even without a technical degree. Any college degree would be suffice to get started on these paths. Learning to code is not necessarily the only path into entry-level technical jobs.
So what is a reliable career?
Many of these jobs are projected to grow by 29 percent or more between 2010 and 2020, much faster than the average occupation, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
